Using Advanced MSP software to Grow Existing Managed Services Model

Infinity Network Solutions first expedition into managed services wasn’t at all what company officials hoped for. The software failed to work as promised and the initially lower cost of entry was quickly made to appear tiny by the amount of time and resources necessary to get the solution up-and-running and able to support clients. Pissed off and behind schedule, the company wanted to make a change.
In stepped Matthew Drinkwine who signed on as professional Services Manager for the Macon, GA-based network integrator. Tasked with getting Infinity Network Solutions’ managed service supplier ( MSP ) practice off the ground, Drinkwine commenced researching providers of remote network and systems management technology.

‘Level Platforms software was already installed and it would have been cheapest to go that route, but I needed to start out with a clean slate,’ announces Drinkwine. ‘It was not a big fight internally because the goal was to get into managed services – and what we had installed didn’t work. ‘For anyone considering managed services, if they have zero experience then N-able is the way to go due to the hand-holding they provide.’ Over the course of two months, Infinity analyzed its business using tools available on the internet in the N-able Resource Center, as well as its customer knowledge and network expertise, deciding which existing accounts were strong candidates for managed services.

‘In today’s competitive marketplace, having the right technologies, processes and people in place to support your business structure and to help give exceptional service to your clients are imperative success factors that cannot be compromised,’ announces Brian Betzel, Executive vice president of Sales for Infinity, a Technology assurance Group ( TAG ) member and a CRN Top a hundred Fast growth Network Integrator as well as an N-able MSP partner.
‘N-able’s blueprint for Success was pivotal in shaping our services model, and N-central is still Infinity’s managed services platform of choice . It’s great walking into a new business deal knowing you have what it takes, both technically and professionally, to win and grow that account.’

To hone their understanding of N-central and managed services, Infinity engineers and technicians finished courses developed by N-able varsity.

The hottest option is its second-tier offering, which mixes remote monitoring of the customer’s's IT infrastructure and unlimited access for a fixed fee. But whatever service level customers purchase, Infinity expects its IT services business to resume its strong growth based on the company’s partnership with N-able and the skillsets Infinity brings.

‘For someone looking at getting into managed services and to have it become part of or the primary focus of their business, N-able does a better job than anyone else out there,’ says Drinkwine. ‘You may lay our more for it, but as we found out with our first experience in managed services, you get what you pay for.
